We know that the climate crisis requires action and that to reverse it, it is key that all people and organizations start by changing something. That is why in October 2019 we signed the NetZero2030 commitment driven by B Corps around the world. There, more than 500 signatory B companies committed to reducing their net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2030, 20 years before the goals set in the Paris Agreement.
We renewed our commitment to carbon neutrality, bringing our footprint result to net-zero emissions for the second year in a row.
Since 2019 we have carried out a joint strategy of mitigation and compensation actions. For the 2020 period, we decided to measure and offset the result of our carbon footprint together with our client, The Carbon Sink, the first marketplace for carbon offsetting options. At Thecarbonsink.com, SMEs and individuals can easily and freely measure their footprint with a calculator based on the GHG Protocol standards, the most recognized for this exercise.
The result of the carbon footprint of done! in 2020 was 1 ton of CO2 equivalent. This figure was reached, on the one hand, thanks to all the actions we regularly take to reduce our consumption of resources, mobility, and waste reduction, as well as the way we work for most of the year, marked by virtuality.
To bring the result for the year to net zero, we acquired bonds from the “Corredor de los Cedros” project offered by The Carbon Sink. Thus, we invested in the development of a native forest conservation project in the Yungas-Jujeñas ecoregion that seeks to reduce future emissions thanks to the prevention of deforestation, and tasks of restoration and protection of biodiversity.
