Sustainability strategy for the leading supermarket company in northern Mexico.

CHALLENGE

Designing a sustainability strategy based on H-E-B’s materiality assessment.

H-E-B, the self-service retail company with the greatest expansion and impact in northern Mexico, commissioned us to develop its sustainability strategy. The first step was conducting a double materiality assessment. This was a comprehensive process that included an analysis of sustainability trends within its industry and market to identify the most relevant business impacts. These were then validated with key stakeholders through an online survey, in-depth interviews, and a focus group with the internal team.

At H-E-B’s headquarters in Monterrey, we presented and discussed the results of the ESG impact and risk identification process with the Senior Leadership Team. These insights enabled us to move forward with defining the company’s strategic sustainability pillars and action areas.

Sustainability Report

We developed H-E-B’s seventh Annual Sustainability Report from start to finish. Following the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, we supported H-E-B in reporting in a transparent and meaningful way how they are making a difference across social, environmental, and economic dimensions. We used creativity and storytelling to bring to life the story of how H-E-B contributes to being the best place to shop, work, and do business, through a design we truly love.
